Frequently asked questions

Make sure location permissions are enabled for Socio in your device settings. The app needs your location to show nearby posts. Also check that your home location is set in your profile — the feed is centred around it when GPS is unavailable.

Roulette matches you anonymously with a nearby user for a 5-minute conversation window. At the end, both of you can choose to keep the conversation — if both agree, it becomes a permanent chat. If either party declines (or the timer runs out), the conversation disappears.

Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your data including posts, messages, photos, and profile information. This action cannot be undone.

Posts are automatically reviewed for content that violates our Community Guidelines. If your post was hidden or removed, it likely contained content flagged as toxic, spam, or inappropriate. Repeated violations may result in a warning or account ban. If you believe this was a mistake, contact us at support@socioapp.net.

Premium subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play — not through Socio directly. On iOS: Settings app → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Socio. On Android: Google Play app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Socio.

Go to Profile → Settings → Privacy → Export My Data. You'll receive a JSON file with all your account data. This is provided in compliance with GDPR Article 20 (data portability).

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within a few minutes.

Tap the ⋮ menu on any post and select Report. On a user profile, tap the report icon in the top right. Our moderation team reviews all reports. You can also block a user to prevent them from seeing your content and messaging you.

No. Socio only stores and displays your approximate neighbourhood area — not your exact GPS coordinates. Posts show an approximate distance (e.g. "~1.2km away") but never a precise location. Your exact coordinates never leave your device.
